2026-27 team resources

The most-used parent information is organized below so families can find key expectations, schedules, fees and contacts quickly.

Fees, payments & tax guidance

CPA registration: approximately $130 annually, typically paid in August. Commitment fees: billed in six installments from September through March and vary by gymnast level and meet schedule.

Payment options: check in the gym lobby mailbox or online through Blue Sombrero. Installment payments allow fundraising credits to be applied.

CPA commitment and registration fees are not tax deductible. Funding attendance beyond Regionals remains at the sole discretion of the CPA board.

Gym-side costs from the parent kickoff: USAG membership ~ $75; floor choreography/music ~ $450 individual or ~ $100 stock; meet leotard & warm-up ~ $500; practice leo ~ $115; team bag ~ $100; personal equipment ~ $60; open gym $15/session. Exact costs can vary.

Gymnast expectations

Maintain 80%+ monthly attendance, arrive on time for warm-ups, stay focused, and be safely meet-ready at least two weeks before sanctioned meets. Approved leotard with spandex shorts/leggings; stud earrings only; no other jewelry or watches. Bring fueling snacks for practices 3.5+ hours and water or no-sugar drinks in labeled, no-spill bottles. Phones should be put away.

Parent expectations & communication

Ensure athletes arrive on time and are picked up promptly. Families may watch from the lobby but should not enter the gym unless invited by a coach. For practice absences, email cardinalgymnastics@outlook.com. Keep USAG athlete memberships current and stay up to date on Team and CPA fees.

Program structure

Developmental Program (DP): Levels 1-10, with compulsory Levels 1-5 and optional Levels 6-10. Xcel: Bronze through Sapphire, with greater flexibility in routine construction and fewer practice hours. Repeating a level can be a normal part of athletic development.

Competitions & meets

Invitational meets include local and Mid-Atlantic competitions for Compulsory, Optional and Xcel levels, plus one long-distance travel meet for Optionals and upper-level Xcel. Families should block the entire weekend; specific sessions are often released about 10 days in advance and last roughly 3-4 hours. Spectators are not permitted on the competition floor.

Tuition & financial schedule

Jackrabbit tuition is billed on the 24th of the prior month. Competition leotards are billed October 16. Team warm-ups and optional Tank Leo / Team Backpack are billed November 13. Private lessons are $90/hour through Jackrabbit. CPA monthly fee is billed on the 15th of the month.

Holiday & break schedule highlights

Cardinal does not follow the FCPS schedule. Closures are emailed and posted by 2 PM weekdays, 8 AM Saturday and 12 PM Sunday; no make-ups for missed practices. Halloween practices finish at 3 PM (XG & Level 3). Thanksgiving has a modified Nov 25-29 schedule with no practice Thanksgiving Day or Black Friday. Winter break schedule runs 12/21-1/1. Presidents' Day is closed Monday, Feb 15. Spring Break has normal practice except Easter Sunday, March 28. Summer closures include Memorial Day weekend, July 4th weekend and Aug 7-15, 2027.
